We would like to congratulate Ruth N. Halls Associate Professor and CRRES Associate Director Dr. Michelle R. Moyd on receiving the 2021 Building Bridges Award, which recognizes recipients for their work in promoting equality, diversity, inclusion, and respect.
Dr. Moyd received the award, created in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., for her work as one of the founders of the Bloomington People's Market. She has worked extensively to address issues of racial inequity, long before the murder of George Floyd and subsequent protests, by providing platforms for discussions around race and social justice, dedicated mentorship to students, and rigorous, critical scholarship.
