About the Center

The Center for Research on Race and Ethnicity in Society (CRRES), located in Bloomington, Indiana, provides a multidisciplinary intellectual space for the study of race and ethnicity in the social sciences and humanities. The Center focuses on facilitating and enacting scholarship, mentorship, collaboration, and community.

Our Aims

  • To contribute to the IUB intellectual climate by offering a place where an interdisciplinary group of faculty, postdoctoral scholars, graduate students, and undergraduates can meet, interact, collaborate, and advance research on race and ethnicity;
  • To create a space where faculty and students feel supported in their efforts to build a research program that incorporates the topic of race and ethnicity; and
  • To offer training opportunities for postdoctoral scholars, graduate students, and undergraduates through workshops on special topics and opportunities for research experience and collaboration.
