CRRES Graduate Affiliate Muna Adem Named Graduate Commencement Speaker

Muna Adem

CRRES Graduate Affiliate Muna Adem was named this year's graduate student commencement speaker. On May 5th, she will speak about the importance of students expressing gratitude to those who have helped them in their journeys. Muna Adem has long been an active Graduate Student Affiliate with CRRES while attending IUB to complete her PhD in Sociology. After graduation, she'll join the University of Maryland as an assistant professor of sociolgy. Muna's research focuses on race, ethnicity, and immigration, and her dissertation examines how trust, cooperation and conflict are shaped by race and ethnic relations, group divisions, and social cohesion in the US and Europe.
