CRRES Affiliate Alberto Ortega Awarded RSF Pipeline Grant

Monday, March 27, 2023

Alberto Ortega

CRRES Faculty Affiliate Alberto Ortega received a Pipeline Grant from the Russell Sage Foundation, an award co-funded with the Economic Mobility and Opportunity Program at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. This initiative supports early-career scholars who are underrepresented in the social sciences and promotes racial, ethnic, gender, disciplinary, institutional, and geographic diversity. Ortega is one of eighteen emerging scholars awarded this year.

The Pipeline Grant supports Ortega's project titled "Juvenile Detention Alternatives, Arrests, and Disciplinary Outcomes," which will examine the effect of the Anne Casey Foundation’s Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative using the Uniform Crime Report Data Series.

Congratulations, Dr. Ortega!
