CRRES Director Dr. Dina Okamoto has been nominated as Indiana University's 2021 senior candidate for an Andrew Carnegie Fellowship. Carnegie Fellowships are one of the most prestigious honors available for faculty in the humanities and social sciences, designed to support scholars researching some of the most pressing issues of our time. Dr. Okamoto is nominated for her proposed project on Asian American activism and social change, which would cover major demographic and political changes within the Asian American population over the past few decades. Her project speaks to broader questions about who engages with the category "Asian American," what narratives shape and are shaped by this diverse group, and the impact of Asian American organizing on American society.
