We would like to congratulate CRRES Graduate Student Affiliate Kennedi Johnson on winning the John H. Edwards Fellowship! The John H. Edwards Fellowship is one of the University’s most prestigious academic awards, which recognizes “good citizenship, character, especially attitude toward public service and the likelihood of future usefulness to society, scholastic ability, intellectual capacity.” Johnson is a doctoral candidate in ethnomusicology, with a research focus on black music within African diaspora. She was also selected to be the 2021 New York State Council on the Arts intern for the Center for Traditional Music and Dance.
