Congratulations to CRRES Graduate Student Affiliate Muna Adem on winning the 2021 PEO Scholars Award! Muna is one of 100 doctoral students in the U. S. and Canada selected to receive a $20,000 Scholar Award from the P.E.O. Sisterhood. She was sponsored by Chapter EV of Bloomington IN, established in 2005. Scholar Awards recipients are a select group of women chosen for their high level of academic achievement, their potential to make significant contributions in their chosen field of study and for having a positive impact on society. Muna is a doctoral candidate in sociology, with a research agenda focusing on the mechanisms that facilitate or hinder trust, solidarity, and cooperation in ethno-racially diverse societies. She has published in peer reviewed journals such as Proceedings of the National Academy of Science and Emerging Adulthood.
