At November’s TEDxIndianaUniversity, two CRRES affiliates gave TED talks examining race in contemporary U.S. society. Maurer School of Law Professor Jeannine Bell spoke on the current racial climate in her talk, "Making Racial Progress out of Racial Chaos," delving into our current “chaos” of increased hate crimes and violent policing, while considering how we can move forward. Director of the Black Film Center/Archive and Professor at The Media School Terri Francis shared both personal and intellectual insights on “Thinking Through Race,” encouraging audience members to consider the racial fictions to which we ascribe and how we might break through these illogical boxes.
