Your contribution to CRRES helps support students and faculty conducting research on race, ethnicity, and migration.
Here are just a few of the ways that your generous donation contributes to the Center’s mission:

  • Research grants that support faculty and student scholarship.

  • The Undergraduate Research Program in the Social Sciences and Humanities, which provides mentorship training to underrepresented students at IU.

  • Travel awards that assist students and faculty presenting at conferences.

  • The CRRES Speaker Series, which invites distinguished scholars from a variety of disciplines to present their work at IU and meet CRRES faculty and students.

Dr. Alaina Roberts
(Ph.D. IU Department of History) was selected as the 2017-2018 George and Ann Richards Civil War Era Center Postdoctoral Fellow at Penn State. The Postdoctoral Fellowship Program at the Richards Center allows fellows to join a community of scholars doing work on the Civil War and Reconstruction.

“CRRES gave me funding to complete my research as well as crucial opportunities to interact on a personal level with other graduate students who share my interests in race and space, as well as senior scholars whose work I admire.”
