The Faculty Seed Grant (FSG)is open to IUB tenure-track faculty and awards up to $5,000 on a competitive basis for projects involving social science and humanities research on the topic of race and ethnicity. The grant is intended to provide short-term support for pilot projects that will facilitate the development of major proposals for external funding or assist in the completion of an on-going project at the stage of completing data analysis.
The Graduate Student Research Grant (GSRS) is open to advanced graduate students at IUB in good standing with their departments, and awards up to $2,000 to support original social scientific and humanities research (approved by IRB) on the topic of race and/or ethnicity. Funds can be used for data collection, research supplies, transcription, computer software and other needs that are directly related to the proposed research project. This research must be advised by a faculty member at IUB, but cannot be collaborative between faculty advisor(s) and graduate student(s).
The Graduate Student Travel Grant (GSTG)is open to advanced graduate students at IUB who are in good standing with their departments (as determined in a letter of support from the Director of Graduate Studies). Graduate students can receive a $500 travel grant for national or regional meetings where they are scheduled to present a paper that engages the topic of race and ethnicity.
